A big change is coming to rodeo tickets for the 2025 Fiesta Days Rodeo! Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, April 2 at 9 a.m.
This change is being made for a few reasons:
- PREMATURE SELLOUT. We cannot have the rodeo sellout a year in advance. It doesn't give the rodeo enough time to organize tickets for the next year for sponsors, give-aways (such as for the reading challenge), etc. For the first time ever, the rodeo all-but sold out in July of 2023 for the July 2024 rodeo.
- SCALPERS. Having the ticket purchasing open for a year has given way to more and more scalpers. We have been able to curve the problem, but this will ensure that more residents are able to purchase tickets.
- ORGANIZATIONAL CHALLENGES. It is an unnecessary burden on rodeo tickets sales staff to be working on next year's ticket sales BEFORE this year's event has finished (computer programming, pricing, etc) or to continue in sales mode at midnight after the five-day event ends or through the next morning. This change will give staff time to clean up from "yesterday's rodeo" and be focused on the tickets sales when they occur in April.
- PATRON PLANNING. Selling so many tickets a year in advance requires residents to guess how many tickets they will need next year. If they HAVE to buy their tickets a year in advance, because the event sells out the year before, they will have to hold them for a year. When plans change or life happens, we are left with disappointed fans.
- NO NEED. There is no need to sell them so far in advance, that is simply "how things have always been done". As the rodeo grows in popularity and regional reach, this will help more local fans get tickets first.
- EASY & CONVENIENT. Now residents can set their calendars to Wednesday, April 2 at 9am. No need to wait up or wake up at midnight.
