Join us for our yearly Firefly Festival for all ages! From a hands-on family storytime to a guest lecture and dance party, there's a little something for everyone.

Does this cost anything?
No! It's free for all our community members; no library card needed.
A what...a rave? For kids??
Yes, just keep in mind that we're a public library and you won't be disappointed! We'll have a fun blacklight dance party with kid-friendly music, glow sticks and glow face paint, so fun for everyone is involved.
If you or your little one is sensitive to blacklights or sounds, our face painting is located outside the children's program room so you don't have to brave the dance floor.
Where can I learn more about Utah County Fireflies?
We have a lot of local information, specifically at the Thompson Century Farm located here at Spanish Fork! You can learn more about Diane Garcia and her farm via the Thompson Century Farm facebook group or from an article about Utah Fireflies from Utah Valley Magazine.
I saw some fireflies at [place]. Is that important? Who can I tell?
There's a website for that! Be sure to submit your sighting and any other data to the Western Firefly Project, a Citizen Science initiative started in 2014 to track firefly populations through the western US. You can learn more via the Natural History Museum of Utah's website about the project (...and, if you read the article, you may see a familiar name!!).
