Library Temporary Closure Begins on March 25

We're Moving Banner

Last Day Before the Move is Friday, March 24th

Catch us before we close the current library building for good! We'll be open our regular operating hours from 10am to 6pm, then we'll be closed starting Saturday, March 25th.

Our new location will reopen to the public Saturday, April 29th.

Here are some common question regarding the closure:

Will I still be able to check out materials while the library is closed?
The last day to check out physical materials from the library is Friday, March 24. Digital content, through the Libby app, will still be available during the closure.

Will due dates be extended or overdue fines waived?
Due dates for checked-out materials will not be extended during the closure. If you are signed up for auto-renewal, your materials will automatically renew if (1) the item hasn't already renewed twice, and (2) no one else has a pending hold on the same item.

Overdue fines will still be charged for items returned late (except for children's books, which do not accrue late fines).

Items returned the week of March 20 will be checked in fine-free.

Can I still place holds on materials during the closure?
Yes, you can still place holds through our online catalog; however, holds placed during the closure will not be fulfilled until we open on April 29.

Once the library is closed, where should I return my items?
Beginning on Monday, March 27, items should be returned to Library Hall and not the current libary. Library Hall has 2 drive-up book drop bins, as well as a book drop on the building adjacent to the entrance on the west side of the building.

What is the last day that you'll be holding storytimes at the current library?
Our last day of regular programming at the current library is  Saturday, March 18. We will be holding a special event on Thursday, March 24. This event, called Nostalgia Night, will be a fun event for all ages to enjoy the current building before we move. There will be a variety of activities for all ages, including painting your handprint on the wall of the program room. More information on this event is available on our events calendar.

What programs will be offered during the closure?
We will still be offering a variety of in-person, virtual, and reading programs during the closure. Check our calendar of events for a list of all the programs that will be offered.

To participate in our Library on Tour reading challenge, download the Beanstack app from the Apple AppStore or the Google Play Store.

How can I help with the move?
Individuals or groups wanting to help with the move to Library Hall are invited to attend our Book Chain on Main event on Saturday, March 25 at 7:45 am. We will be closing down Main Street between the old library and Library Hall and carrying a portion of our books between the two buildings. More information on this event is available on our events calendar.

How can I contact the library or get updates during the closure?
While we are closed, you can still contact us by texting or calling us at 801.804.4480. You can also email us at library@spanishfork.org. For updates during the closure, check our website or follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
