Spanish Fork City is proud to announce the 2017 Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Grand Parade. This
year's theme is "WE ARE SF".
The parade will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017.
Judging this year will take place prior to the beginning of the parade. If you would like to have
your entry judged, you must be in your staging area by 8:15 a.m. with all participants on your
entry. Judging will begin at 8:15 a.m. and will be done based on how well the float supports this
year's theme, with preference being given to those floats that are most original. The judges'
decision will be made prior to the beginning of the Grand Parade. Banners announcing the
awards will precede the winners on the parade route.
Regardless of whether you wish to have your entry judged, the first half of the parade line-up
must be in their assigned space no later than 8 a.m., with the second half in place by 8:30 a.m.
You will need to register and be in place by your assigned time to confirm your placement in the
line-up. If you are in the 2nd
half of the parade and wish to be judged, you must be in place by
8:15 a.m. as stated above.

This year's parade will be limited to approximately 100 entries, and preference will be given to
non-commercial entries and to commercial entries whose entries support this year's Fiesta Days theme.
Due to this limited availability, submitting a parade application form does not guarantee entrance
into the parade line-up.
Please review all of the information and submit your entry application - including a detailed
description and photo (or sketch) of your float/entry-as soon as possible. Applications MUST be
submitted online at www.spanishfork.org. Applications should be received no later than June 9,
2017. HOWEVER, PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE PAYMENT WITH YOUR APPLICATION. An
acceptance or denial letter will be mailed to you two (2) weeks after receiving your application.
The decision of the parade committee regarding which entries are and which entries are not
accepted into the parade is final. The parade line-up and other necessary information will be
mailed out 14 days (two weeks) prior to the parade.
The purpose of the Fiesta Days Parade is to provide fun, relaxation and patriotism for the
citizens of Spanish Fork and the viewing audience. The safety and operation of your float, group
or organization are your sole responsibility. The parade committee reserves the right to cancel
any accepted entry at any time should it be determined that the entry does not comply with the
purpose of the parade. In addition, by submitting your application, you agree to release Spanish
Fork City and its representatives from any and all liabilities related in any way to your
organization's participation in the parade.
THERE WILL BE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ANY PROJECTILE (candy, objects, water, etc.)
thrown from any moving vehicle. Any water shooting device (blasters, cannons or squirt guns)
are prohibited. Items thrown create a hazardous environment for spectators running toward
moving vehicles. Also, spectators have complained about being sprayed by water. FAILURE TO
COMPLY WITH THESE REGULATIONS WILL RESULT IN YOUR IMMEDIATE REMOVAL
FROM THE PARADE. If you are removed, no refund will be given.
The distribution of items along the parade route has become a serious problem. It has resulted in
an increase in the amount of trash left along the parade route and more importantly has become
a safety hazard for spectators. We want our Grand Parade to be FUN, but more importantly
SAFE. Therefore, the distribution of advertisements, literature, candy, gum, treats or promotional
items ON THE PARADE ROUTE may be done ONLY upon the following conditions:
Distribution Policy -
- Distributed items, including candy, may not be thrown to or in the direction of spectators, but must be
handed to an individual. Distribution must not occur in any manner which encourages or
rewards spectators that move from the viewing area (behind the fog line at the side of the
road) into ANY PORTION of the street assigned to the parade route.
- If in the opinion of a Fiesta Days or Parade Committee Official, the continued distribution of
materials or items could endanger Parade spectators or participants, the official may ask
entry participants to cease from the distribution of these materials or items. Spanish Fork
City and Parade Committee Officials will bear no responsibility for any financial or
opportunity loss associated with this request.
- Violators may be subject to prosecution, as appropriate, under Utah Statutory Code.
We are excited about this year's Spanish Fork Fiesta Days celebration and hope to include your organization in the parade. If you have additional questions, please feel
free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
